This showstopping table is crafted from a single slab of Claro Walnut.  It is double-live edge (see pictures) and features a "waterfall" drop leg on one side.  The waterfall feature continues the grain from the top onto the leg in an intriguing fashion.  The reclaimed slab was upcycled, rehabilitated, and stablized meticulously using black epoxy resin to fill each void.  The slab (table surface and waterfall leg) are 1 5/8" thick of solid wood.  The table top surface is 53" long (just shy of 4 and 1/2 feet) at its lengthiest, and measures 34" from the waterfall to the shoulder.  It is 37 1/2" at its widest point (on the shoulder) and just over 29" at the waterfall.  The table is 17 1/2" tall (the range for a coffee table is typically 16"-20"). 
 
This Claro Slab features a "crotch".  A crotch is an unfortunate term that refers to where the tree branches meet the trunk.  You can see the beautiful high figuring of the Claro Walnut where the branch (the shoulder of the table) nitted into the trunk of the tree.  This is one crotch that you will be happy to stare at (sorry - couldn't help myself)!  
 
Claro Walnut is a gourgeous wood.  Claro walnut trees are widely believed to be a cross polination of the more common Black Walnut with another species and together they yield a deep rich grain pattern that is sought out and coveted by woodworkers and collectors alike.  
 
This table sits on a intriguing polished black steel ball.  This table would look amazing with our other two Claro Walnut live edge tables as end tables on an oversized couch.
 
This table is in stock and ready to ship, meaning that the product you see is the final finished item that you will receive.  The ball will ship separately and you'll simply have to rest the table onto the ball (you may want to have two people because the table is heavy).
